Biography & Conception AUTUMN is an artist circle founded in 1984 ~ Based on romantic traditions the aim of the circle round its founding member Thomas Buchner has always been synthesis of the arts ~ The group is formed by very different individuals whose individuality is flowing into the entirety of AUTUMN comparable to the different coloured leaves of the trees during that season ~ The ideal has always been to combine music, literature and fine arts ~ The works of AUTUMN are created in a dynamic process ~ For example the instrumentation of the music pieces is not the result of the line-up as is typical for the arrangements of a band, it is determined by the composition and with that the personnel is changing with every piece ~ It is the composer who decides about the choice of musicians joining the actual recording ~ So the image of AUTUMN shall not be defined by any persons but by the work itself ~ After a few years of stylistic development and a period of concerts in the 80's the musical ensemble has been concentrated on composing and recording concept albums and organizing performances together with other artists of the AUTUMN circle since the early 90's.   Style Having its roots in romantic art philosophies, the claim of AUTUMN has always been the expression and the evocation of timeless or fundamental feelings by combining elements of avant-garde, technical, traditional and classical forms ~ The results are poetic, melancholic and mystic atmospheres - so for example the audio works sound like some kind of 'music for inner films' ~ The paradoxical polarity of the season autumn is the guideline of the conception: like that dull but colourful season, not warm nor cold, the lyrics, compositions and pictures of AUTUMN are filled with subliminal inconsistencies ~ Omnipresent is always reflection and a certain romantic aspect ~ Stylistic changes have never been done for its own sake but are the consequences of a continuous natural development ~ All things considered AUTUMN aim at a certain timeless continuance ~ So this conceptual art collective from Nuremberg (Germany) is producing sophisticated sounds between classic, avant-garde, experimental wave, traditional and popular music; and the musicians, sculptors and painters are border crossers in modern art for more than 25 years.   Music Ensemble: Brigitte Christine Tretter: Vocals Kathrin Koller: Flute, Vocals Sabine Kronmeister: Bagpipes, Flutes Matthias Reinwald: Clarinet, Tenor Sax, Tin Whistle Florian Zeilhofer: Cello Bernd Baumeister: Guitars, Bass Guitar, Keyboards, Rhythm Patterns Thomas Buchner: Keyboards, Psalter, Collages, Rhythm Patterns, Vocals Christian Roth: Drums, Percussion, Didgeridoo There have always been numerous guest musicians incorporated into the activities of AUTUMN.
